IN-HOUSE TECHNICAL REVIEW FOR THE YEAR 2019

 

1ST IN-HOUSE TECHNICAL REVIEW FOR THE YEAR 2019 HELD ON 7TH OF FEBUAR , 2019

On the 7th of February, the first quarter Technical   In-House review for the year 2019 took place. Professor S.A Ajayi, Deputy Vice Chancellor (DVC) of The Technical University, Ibadan, and Oyo was in attendance as moderator for the programme.

The D/CEO in his opening remarks, commended Prof Ajayi on taking time out of his busy schedule to moderate the presentations. It is a further   demonstration of his love and commitment towards the centre. He then implored the scientist and technical officers to take advantage of his presence while assuring them that gaining from his wealth of experience is required.

Furthermore , Prof Ajayi in his speech emphasized that NACGRAB as a focal point for the nation in terms of conservation and food security ,a forum like this is indeed very important to preserve the mandate. He impressed on all to render their own quota In order to attain the set goals of the centre. He implored everyone present not to be sentimental and judgmental on the presentation ,as it will set a template for further discourse.

The following Scientists and Technical Officer made the presentations :Gloria Afolayan (Seed Testing/ Genebank),Coker David (Molecular Laboratory),Mr Alex Giwa (Field Gene bank) And Lawyer Ejiroghene ( Tissue Culture Unit) In their various presentations, they detailed the progress made so far, their action plan and the challenges facing their units .Opportunities were given for question and answers.

Prof Ajayi in his closing remarks commended the leadership of the Centre on the achievements of the Centre and encouraged the Scientists to do more on their research findings in areas such as publication of journals and fresh ideas that will aid the centre in achieving its mandate .

Dr Okere Anthony, Asst.Director (R&D) in his vote of thanks message appreciated the moderator for his frank views and words of encouragement which he believes will rub off on our scientist for the good of the centre .
